Parents of lost babies and potential of all kinds: come here to share the technicolour, the vividness, the despair, the heart-broken-open, the compassion we learn for others, having been through this mess — and see it reflected back at you, acknowledged and understood.

parenting after loss > Incorporating our precious Scarlett into our rainbow's 1st birthday
Hi guys, I could really some advice. Our rainbow will be one in September, her birthday is just 20 days after our first daughter's would be second birthday. I really want to incorporate Scarlett into our rainbow's party but I don't know how. If you've gone through this, what did you do? Do you even think it's appropriate to combine the two? I don't want either child to be overshadowed by the other. Please help! Thank you.
Hi Ashleigh, I think whatever you decide to do is appropriate for you. Is there a sign or symbol you associate with Scarlett? Shelby's is butterflies so I often try and incorporate this into our family photos to include her. For me personally it never occurred to me to combine ours (Shelby's birthday is 24 days after my LC) but you should do what feels right for you and your family. x
