Parents of lost babies and potential of all kinds: come here to share the technicolour, the vividness, the despair, the heart-broken-open, the compassion we learn for others, having been through this mess — and see it reflected back at you, acknowledged and understood.

parenting after loss > SF Bay Area Parents: New Parenting after Pregnancy/Infant Loss Support Group
Glow Community, Inspired in part by another mom here who started a MeetUp group, I have created a local support group in Berkeley, CA. If you or anyone you know is interested, please come.
Please join us for our second gathering as we aim to listen, provide support, and discuss our common and individual questions as we parent after the loss of a pregnancy or infant. This group is both for those who are caring for older children as you work through your grief and those who have gone on to have subsequent children and continuing to grieve as they grow. We will meet monthly on the third Thursday of the month (for now: check with Juliet after June; also, if the timing is what prevents you from coming, please tell us -- we want to find a day and time that serves as many as possible) at Congregation Beth El, 1301 Oxford Street, Berkeley, 7:30-9:00 pm. The group is drop-in: you may come every time or as you need to. It is welcoming of all genders and family forms. The group is free, thanks to Project Nechama of Congregation Beth El (the group is non-religious and open to people of all beliefs). Contact Juliet with any questions: jspeargardner@gmail.com
Next gathering: February 18, 7:30-9:00 pm at Congregation Beth El, 1301 Oxford Street, Berkeley.
Lap babies are welcome (we recognize the presence of babies might be difficult for others; please contact Juliet if you are hesitant to come because of this). We can arrange for on-site childcare (there will be a charge). Please contact Juliet (jspeargardner@gmail.com) for more information. Please give us at least one week's notice if you think you will need childcare.
