Parents of lost babies and potential of all kinds: come here to share the technicolour, the vividness, the despair, the heart-broken-open, the compassion we learn for others, having been through this mess — and see it reflected back at you, acknowledged and understood.
Thanks to photographer Xin Li and to artist Stephanie Sicore for their respective illustrations and photos.
So I'm sure some of you are familiar with the Earth Mama Angel Baby products (natural and organic baby soaps, lotions, etc.). A friend of mine gave me their nipple cream when my rainbow was born. Last night I was researching whether I could use it as lip balm for the baby. As I looked through the company's website, I saw that they had a separate tab for Baby Loss. Right there - next to Baby, Gifts, Breastfeeding... Baby Loss!! They sell a few things - candles, no more milk herbal tea, but the actual products are beside the point. For some reason, I was so deeply touched that a company, a commercial enterprise, would not shy away from talking about baby loss. That they wouldn't worry about scaring their core customers - happy, oblivious young parents. That they would recognize baby loss mothers and their needs, along with those blessed with living babies... Seems silly that my eyes would water but I guess it's a reflection of how little the rest of the world (commercial or otherwise) acknowledges our experiences. Anyways, the tab directs you to the Healing Hearts Baby Loss Comfort page that they created, which actually has many helpful resources - links to support organizations, "what to say" and "what not to say", a remembrances tab... I like their products and even though they're pricey, this gives me a bit more incentive to buy from them.
