William was born 5 years ago today. 5 years! Hard to believe.

five years. it's hard to imagine, isn't it? we are coming up on four years this spring...and it is a lifetime ago and yesterday, both...but without anything in between, the hollow space where so much should have been. but love - and little things like this commemoration - fill it up.

i'm a little late, but happy birthday, William.
