Parents of lost babies and potential of all kinds: come here to share the technicolour, the vividness, the despair, the heart-broken-open, the compassion we learn for others, having been through this mess — and see it reflected back at you, acknowledged and understood.

Thanks to photographer Xin Li and to artist Stephanie Sicore for their respective illustrations and photos.

for one and all > The Month of May

We had two miscarriages in 2022, one after the other. May was our first due date… having a hard time. Not sure if writing helps or not. Moving through grief has been difficult.

The Month of May

There was a day
the month of May
Held joy and celebration

but came and went
The feelings spent
On joy and future planning

6 weeks went by
When I asked why
You couldn’t stay inside

And far to soon
You joined the moon
As a star up in the sky

Dear little one
I hope you come
To visit me tonight

I’d tell you dear
To have no fear
I’m with you all the time

I lost my son in May of 2020, it remains the cruelest month. Beauty and celebration magnify the loss. I miss him today.

Love to you and you babe.
